Hike to the Solsteinhaus 🏔️ | Experience a fantastic mountain tour in the Karwendel | Tyrol

The Karwendel is one of our absolute favorite regions in Tyrol - simply beautiful. This time we planned a hike to the Solsteinhaus, and it exceeded all our expectations.

Even the start in Zirl promises tranquillity and pure nature. The trail leads through dense forests, across alpine meadows and narrow mountain paths - always accompanied by impressive views. After around 3 hours along beautiful paths with magnificent views of the Karwendel mountains, you reach the Solsteinhaus at an altitude of over 1,800 meters.

We spent the night there - there are nice, small rooms that are cozy and clean. The food was excellent: hearty, home-made and just the thing after a long tour.

The hut is ideal for staying longer and undertaking further hikes, for example to the Großer or Kleiner Solstein. If you really want to experience the Karwendel, this is the perfect base.

Our conclusion: an all-round successful mountain tour in one of the most beautiful areas of Tyrol. Nature, peace, views and hut enjoyment - what more could you want?
