The Schatzerhütte at 2,004 m in the South Tyrolean Dolomites is a paradise for hikers, nature lovers, and connoisseurs. Located on the southern slope of the Gabler, it offers spectacular views of the Peitlerkofel and Aferer Geisler – especially at sunrise and sunset.
After a short drive, a 40-minute hiking trail leads to the hut, which is an ideal starting point for circular or summit tours. You can stay overnight in shared or twin rooms, log cabins with shower/WC, or in a dormitory for up to 25 people – authentic and cozy.
The hut spoils its guests with regional specialties, homemade wood-fired bread, breakfast, and optional half board. Dining on the terrace with a view of the Dolomites is particularly impressive.
The hut offers adventures all year round: hiking and summit tours in summer, ski tours and snowshoe hikes in winter, and proximity to the Plose ski area. The secluded location, the panorama, the authentic accommodation, and the culinary highlights make the Schatzerhütte an unforgettable experience. Once you have been here, you will never forget the peace and beauty of this special place.
Tips
A trip to Brixen is always worthwhile, with its old town, cathedral, cafés, boutiques, and regional cuisine.
The Neustift monastery with its frescoes and wine cellars is also worth seeing.
