The Valsertal, a side valley of the Tyrolean Wipptal, is a real insider tip for anyone who wants to experience Tyrol's nature away from mass tourism. Unspoiled landscapes, idyllic hiking trails, and quiet huts make this valley an unforgettable experience.
What makes the Valsertal valley so special
The Valsertal valley is spectacular and still largely untouched. In contrast to the better-known Wipptal valley, through which the motorway to Italy runs and which therefore has a lot of traffic, it exudes tranquility and genuine Tyrolean authenticity. Whether it's easy family hikes to the Ochsenalm or challenging summit ascents such as the Olperer, every hiker will find their paradise here. The huts, which invite you to stop for a bite to eat or stay overnight, are particularly charming.

Our tips
Getting there
The easiest way to reach the Valsertal valley from Innsbruck is by car. The journey normally takes around 30 minutes, but it can currently take considerably longer due to major roadworks on the Brenner motorway. Those staying overnight in Innsbruck can enjoy the perfect combination of culture and nature.
Best season/time of day
The valley offers the best hiking season from May to October. It is particularly quiet in the early morning or late afternoon.
Activities
