Hike from Mösern to Möserer See and Lottensee

Updated: Nov 11, 2024

The region around Mösern, in the Tyrolean municipality of Telfs, offers wonderful opportunities for hiking enthusiasts who are looking for both nature and a little adventure. Today we are taking you on a circular hike from Mösern to Möserer Lake and Lottensee, which leads back over the Brunschkopf and finally ends at Möserer Lake with a refreshing swim.

Starting point: Mösern

Our hike begins in the town of Mösern, which is located at about 1,200 meters above sea level. Right from the start, the view of the surrounding mountains is impressive and the clear, fresh air makes you want to spend the day in nature.

Section 1: Mösern to Möserer See

The first section of the hike takes us through dense forests and over gentle hills to Lake Möser. The path is well signposted and not too demanding, so that even less experienced hikers and families with children can manage this route without any problems. After about 30 minutes we reach the idyllic Lake Möser, which is embedded in a picturesque landscape. Here we take a short break to enjoy the peace and beauty of the lake.

Section 2: Möserer See to Lottensee

After our break, we continue the hike towards Lottensee. The path leads us through the forest and past lush meadows that are in full bloom, especially in spring and summer. Lottensee is a smaller lake that does not always have water, as it is a so-called period lake.

Section 3: Lottensee to Brunschkopf

From Lottensee we continue to Brunschkopf. This section of the hike is a little more challenging as the path becomes steeper and rockier. But the effort is worth it: once we reach the top, we are rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view that stretches far across the Tyrolean mountains and valleys. Up here it is a good idea to take a longer break, enjoy the view and maybe take a few photos.

Return via the Brunschkopf to the Möserer See

The way back takes us along a different route back to Lake Möser. The descent is less steep, but still varied, and we can once again experience the different facets of Tyrolean nature to the fullest. Once we have arrived back at Lake Möser, we have earned a reward.

A special tip for all hikers: You can swim in Lake Möser! After a hike lasting several hours, there is hardly anything better than a refreshing swim in the clear, cool water of the lake. Lake Möser is known for its excellent water quality and pleasant temperatures in summer. A jump into the water is the perfect way to end the hike and refresh yourself.

Conclusion

The circular hike from Mösern to Möserer See, to Lottensee and over the Brunschkopf back to Möserer See offers everything a hiker's heart desires: idyllic lakes, dense forests, breathtaking views and a refreshing bathing experience. Whether alone, with friends or family - this tour is a must for nature lovers and those seeking relaxation.
