The Three Lakes Tour in Kühtai shows why hiking in the Tyrolean Alps is so unforgettable. Starting at around 2,020 m, this tour takes you into a high alpine landscape full of tranquility, crystal-clear lakes, and impressive mountain panoramas. For families, nature lovers, and photography enthusiasts, this route is an unforgettable experience that remains surprisingly quiet even in high season.

Why this hike in Kühtai is so special
The Three Lakes Tour in Kühtai is special because you can reach an altitude of around 2,450 m with relatively little effort and enjoy spectacular high alpine views. The air is thinner, but that's exactly what makes the experience even more intense.
In winter, Kühtai is a lively ski resort, but in summer it is almost deserted – perfect conditions for enjoying nature in peace and quiet. The route combines gentle climbs with crystal-clear mountain lakes, alpine rocks, and breathtaking viewpoints. If you start early, you can experience the silence and beauty of the landscape in complete tranquility.
⚠️ Please note: Despite relatively gentle climbs, this is a high-altitude tour. Experience, fitness, and suitable equipment are therefore important for safety on the trail.

Our personal impression
We did the tour with our seven-year-old daughter. Right from the start in Kühtai, we were impressed by the clear mountain air and peaceful surroundings. The Mittlere Plenderlessee lake, nestled between gentle slopes and striking rocks, was particularly beautiful, its crystal-clear water reflecting the surrounding mountains.
The stop at the Dreiseenhütte hut was very cozy. The food was delicious and the portions generous, even if the prices were a little higher, as is typical for ski resorts. The colors of the landscape are particularly breathtaking in autumn—golden larch trees, bright meadows, and the warm light of the evening sun create a unique atmosphere..
